Birthday surprise party on Zoom. The friends wish me happy birthday, they raise their wine glasses, the giggle and talk all at the same time. We laugh, it’s so nice to see them again. Somebody mention the next AILA congress.
“I’ll be there!”, Kerstin says.
“Of course!”, Sara shouts, “You are the only respectable academic here!”
Kerstin starts to talk her out of this compliment. Garold interrupts her apologies.
“When somebody makes you a compliment, just say thank you. If you want to elaborate…”, and he makes a pause, “say thank you very much.”
Laughs. In the meanwhile, Kerstin microphone is mute. It doesn’t work any more. As by divine intervention, her chance to talk herself out of the compliment is gone. She even disappears from the screen.
In the meanwhile, Moira takes over. “Garold, you look fantastic!”
We all step in with a choir of “Yes!” “Really!”, and “What have you done?”
He starts for what it looks like a long apology: “But you know, it’s not …”
“Garold”, I shout, “if you want to elaborate, just say thank you very much!”
“I know, but it’s so hard to practice!”
Der Verlag Akademie der Abenteuer wurde Ende 2020 gegründet, um in diesem Kinderbücher neu aufzulegen und Bücher in die Welt zu bringen, die es sonst vielleicht nicht gegeben hätte. Seitdem sind über 50 Bücher von mehr als 20 Autorinnen und Autoren aus vielen Teilen der Welt erschienen – und die Reise geht weiter. Alle Bücher des Verlags lassen sich finden im Überblick.
Maria Giovanna Tassinari leitet das Selbstlernzentrum am Sprachenzentrum der Freien Universität Berlin. Ihre Forschungsinteressen sind Autonomie von Lernenden und Lehrenden, Sprachlernberatung, Emotionen und Gefühle in Fremdsprachenlern- und lehrprozessen sowie in Beratungsprozessen.
Sie ist im wissenschaftlichen Board des Research Institute for Autonomy in Language Education, sowie Ko-Koordinatorin von Learner Autonomy Special Interest Group vom IATEFL und Autonomy Focus Group von Cercles.
Neben ihren wissenschaftlichen Publikationen hat sie auch einen privaten Blog.
